BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana's Medicaid program could see significant changes as Governor Gianforte and the Department of Health and Human Services (DPHHS) introduce a new plan.
The state has submitted a demonstration waiver to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This waiver, known as the Health and Economic Livelihood Partnership (HELP), seeks a five-year approval.
HELP would require able-bodied, working-age individuals enrolled in Medicaid to actively participate in healthcare by paying premiums and contributing to their communities through work, job training, education, or community service activities.
