EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State’s men’s and women’s golf teams partake in the annual Folds of Honor Tournament at the American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, with play beginning Monday.
It’s a 3-day, 54-hole tournament that runs through Wednesday. It’s a rare opportunity for both MSU golf teams to play in the same tournament.
The tournament helps raise money to support the children of fallen soldiers, and the patriotic theme of the American Dunes Club is evident on every inch of its soil.
Founder Dan Rooney says Folds of Honor will raise more than $80 million this year, and about 70% of its funds come from golf-related events.
This is the fourth straight year the Spartan men’s team has participated and the second season the women have been a part of this event.
