ROCKFORD — Area residents and performing arts organizations gathered Sept. 4 at the Coronado Performing Arts Center to celebrate the beginning of the 2025-26 performance season.

Kickoff event Curtain Up! showcased more than a dozen Rockford area groups, giving organizations a chance to interact with each other and their patrons.

"September is the traditional start of the performing arts season, and we are excited to be here together for our kickoff," said Julie Thomas, executive director of the Rockford Symphony Orchestra. "Rockford really has an abundance of organizations that produce really great work."
