On Thursday at 10:26 p.m. a flood warning was released by the National Weather Service in effect until Friday at 2:30 a.m. for Lehigh and Northampton counties.

The weather service states, "Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected for Lehigh and Northampton counties."

"Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring," explains the weather service. "Don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding."
