The Las Cruces Police Department is investigating a Sept. 4 shooting that resulted in two people being injured near Salopek Park in Las Cruces.

LCPD was dispatched to reports of shots fired near the park around 4:30 p.m., and arrived to find at least two persons with gunshot wounds, according to police.

One person was transported to a local hospital and a second person was airlifted to a hospital in El Paso, according to police. LCPD did not provide the identity of either person or updates on their condition.
