GRANVILLE, Iowa (KCAU) — An update on the investigation into a house fire that killed three teens in Granville, Iowa, has officials releasing the preliminary cause.

The Granville Fire Chief stated that preliminary findings suggest an accidental electrical fire originated in the living room area of the home.

On September 1, firefighters responded to a report of a house fire on 430th Street. Fire officials said four teenagers were found in critical condition inside the heavily smoke-filled home.

Three of them died from their injuries, while one is still in critical condition at a burn unit at a Minnesota hospital.
