LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Rapper Warren G has joined the ownership group of the new Long Beach Baseball Club.
The "Regulate" rapper is a Long Beach native and says joining the ownership group is his chance to give back to the community.
"This is more than just owning part of a team, it's about giving back to my city," Warren G said in a statement. "Long Beach shaped me, and I want to help build something positive for the next generation. Baseball brings people together, and that's what I'm all about."
The rapper also told Eyewitness News that he wants the team name to be the Regulators, after his hit 1994 single.
"I love baseball," he said. "I'm a huge Dodger fan, but now we're going to have another team for everybody to root for, too, just like the Dodgers. We got the Long Beach R
