SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — 728 dozen eggs and more than 5,200 gallons of milk; just two items purchased by Iowa food banks within the last year, thanks to the “Choose Iowa Farms to Food Banks Program,” and now that program is back for a second year.
In all, $400,000 has been set by Iowa Lawmakers and the Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. The Foodbank of Siouxland, along with five other Iowa food banks, will match state funds dollar-for-dollar, doubling the impact.
