SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Police in Scottsdale are searching for an accused killer after a man was found dead earlier this week in what investigators called a “targeted attack.”

On Thursday, Scottsdale police said they identified the suspect as Matthew Dieringer, who was described as having a history of homelessness and known to be “manipulative” and “charismatic.”

Investigators said he is known to befriend others to help him with a place to stay, but warned that he is dangerous, and are asking the public not to approach, and instead call 911.

Dieringer is described as a 35-year-old white man, 6′3″, 185 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Police said that officers were called to a townhome near 68th Street and McDowell Road on Monday afternoon, where 67-year-old Frank Quaranta
