Nick Delcalzo scored a goal and had an assist for Wallkill Valley in its 2-1 win over Newton in its season opener in Hamburg.

After a scoreless first half, Kooper Nicolai and Delcalzo each netted goals to lift Wallkill Valley past Newton.

Derek Flemming recorded an assist for Wallkill Valley. Cayden Collins made there saves.

Newton falls to 0-1.
