SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Springfield Thunderbirds have announced their promotional schedule for the upcoming season, which marks their 10th anniversary.

Opening night is set for Saturday, October 11th, at the Mass Mutual Center, with puck drop at 6:05 PM.

The promotional schedule includes returning favorites such as 'Boos and Brews' and 'Hockey Fights Cancer Night.' This season will also introduce new themes like a Captain Matthew Peca bobblehead night and Dr. Seuss Night.

Fans can look forward to six specialty jerseys, including the Teddy Bear Toss and Pink in the Rink.

"You know we do it a couple times a year, it's affordable, it's a good organization, even if they win or lose, it's always a good time," said Thomas Kielbania Jr. from Chicopee.
