SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Travis Best, a Springfield native and former NBA player, visited the Basketball Hall of Fame ahead of the Enshrinement Weekend.

Best, who was a first-round pick in the 1995 NBA Draft, played ten seasons in the league and has a basketball court named in his honor at Springfield Central, where he graduated in 1991.

"Stay true to yourself and don't be too hard on yourself. Keep your nose to the ground, grind, and continue," Best advised during his visit.

Travis Best occasionally returns to Springfield with his nonprofit, the Travis Best Foundation, which supports youth through sports, arts, and education workshops.
