SHREVEPORT, La. — A Louisiana appeals court has upheld a 90-year prison sentence for an Oil City man who pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.
The Second Circuit Court of Appeal affirmed the sentence for Anthony J. Remedes, 41, in a decision posted on July 23. Remedes was sentenced to three consecutive 30-year terms at hard labor without the possibility of parole.
According to Caddo Parish District Attorney James E. Stewart Sr., Remedes pleaded guilty in April 2023 to three counts of possessing pornography involving children under the age of 13.
Remedes was arrested on May 11, 2022. At the time, he was a registered sex offender with a 2016 conviction for attempted possession of pornography involving juveniles. He admitted to purchasing and possessing three videos depicting sex
