Residents in Dundee have been warned this morning to keep doors and windows closed following a large fire .
Families must protect themselves from the thick smoke, billowing from Riverside Recycling Centre in the west of the city. Three fire crews are at the scene, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed in the early hours of the day.
Its statement read: "We have three fire appliances in attendance at a recycling centre fire on Wright Avenue, Dundee . Due to smoke in the area, residents in Dundee, Newport and Tayport are advised to keep windows and doors closed."
The recycling plant is adjacent to Dundee Airport, where flights are currently unaffected.
