GREAT BEND, Kan. (KSNW) -- Great Bend football opens the season Friday with a chance to improve on its 9-1 season in 2024. The Panthers have 12 experienced seniors leading the way, returning their whole defensive secondary and linebacker core.

"We have a lot of different guys that can play in so many different spots. Being able to move them all over the field and hopefully keep defenses on their toes," said Panthers head coach Erin Beck.

There will be some new faces starting on the offensive and defensive lines and at the running back position. Senior middle linebacker Trenton Kern leads the group. "He's kind of the heartbeat and pulse of that defense," added Beck.
