MISSOULA — After Missoula Sentinel's season-opening matchup with Belgrade was ended early due to weather, the Spartans were eager to return home for four, complete quarters of ball.

Even with a full game Thursday night, the Spartans scored fewer points than they managed in two quarters against Belgrade (seven), totaling just six. Still, Sentinel's (2-0) defense locked down Great Falls CMR's (1-1) rushing attack, pitching its second-straight shutout on the way to a 6-0 win.

The win, head coach Dane Oliver said, is a testament to the team's toughness. The Spartans' defense has not allowed a point in 2025.

"It was, for us, just about playing a physical football game," Oliver added. "It can be frustrating, but just sticking with physical football, something's gonna break eventually."
