Two seats are up for grabs in the upcoming Nov. 4 election for Santa Fe Community College’s board.
Four candidates will be on the ballot for the two seats, including one incumbent, although one candidate has said he is dropping out of the race even though his name will still appear on the ballot. The top two vote-getters will win six-year terms on the board.
It will be the first year the college’s elections will institute ranked choice voting, meaning if none of the candidates vying for the positions receives a majority of votes, the candidate with the least votes will be eliminated and their voters’ second choices will be redistributed to the remaining candidates.
