EAST LANSING – The Michigan State women's soccer program was looking to regroup after an uncharacteristic 5-2 loss on the road against Xavier that knocked the Spartans out of the top 25 rankings.

It was a tough task with No. 5 Notre Dame coming into East Lansing, but the Spartans came out quick, generating some great chances and putting the Irish defense on its heels. However, Notre Dame withstood that wave of pressure and opened the scoring on a header from sophomore forward Annabelle Chukwu.
