Scammers are om the prowl again in McCracken County.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said Thursday a West Paducah resident had a door hanger from an alleged mortgage company, "SMS Services" placed on their front door.

When the homeowner called the number on the door hanger, they immediately asked for the homeowner's social security number.

The person that placed the doorhanger on the door was described as a very skinny white male, approximately 5 foot 7 inches, wearing a black hoodie. He was driving a small white sedan.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the McCracken County Sheriff's Office.
