The search has been launched to find a missing Leicestershire teenager . Police have turned to the public for help in their search.

Leicestershire Police said John Crackles is missing from his home in Ashby . The 16-year-old left his address in the area of Lower Packington Road between 8.30pm and 9pm last night (Thursday September 4).

He has not been seen or heard from since. Police say John was not carrying anything and does not have access to a mobile phone or any money.

Alongside a picture of John to help aid their enquiries, police said the missing teenager is 5ft 9ins tall with mousy brown hair, cut short. When he was last seen, John was wearing a grey hoody, black tracksuit bottoms and black shoes.
