Scottish retail footfall decreased by 0.4% in August compared to the same month last year, but was up from -1.3% in July.
The latest Scottish Retail Consortium (SRC) and Sensormatic data showed that shopping centre footfall increased by 0.8% in August year-on-year - and up from -0.1% in July - while retail park footfall decreased by 1.3% last month - down from 0.4% in July.
During August, footfall in Edinburgh increased by 2.7% year-on-year, while footfall in Glasgow decreased by 1.9%.
SRC director David Lonsdale pointed out that disruption early on in the month caused by Storm Floris didn’t help.
