Today a team of riders from the South Okanagan begins the 25th annual Cops for Kids Ride presented by the Thomas Alan Budd Foundation, a 10-day cycling journey across Southeastern B.C. to raise funds for children facing serious medical, physical, or traumatic challenges.

The ride begins in Kelowna this morning at 8 a.m. and proceeds to Osoyoos. Along the way there will be stops at the Summerland Legion at 11 a.m., the Penticton RCMP detachment at 1 p.m., and the fire hall in Oliver at 3 p.m.

These stops provide an opportunity for the public to come out and meet the riders, show their support, and thank them for going the extra mile -- literally -- for local children in need.
