Former BBC Breakfast host Louise Minchin has issued a positive health update following what she previously termed an "agonising" ordeal. The 56-year-old has championed menopause awareness, stressing the vital need for frank discussions and backing for women facing comparable struggles.

During 2022, the broadcaster revealed the emotional toll her menopause experience took on her, especially whilst presenting live programmes, reports the Express . Speaking to Hello! Magazine, she remembered having "an embarrassing conversation" with her superior about being "too hot and sweaty" at work.

Looking back on that period, she said: "I wasn't being a diva. It was excruciating."
