In March, Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced the arrival of a new collaborative task force working on immigration enforcement. The Virginia Homeland Security Task Force would pair state agencies with feds to target transnational crime organizations, such as MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, in response to an executive order signed by President Donald Trump on his first day in office.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch asked both candidates running to succeed Youngkin where they stand on the task force and whether they’d continue to engage the Virginia State Police, Department of Corrections and the Office of the Attorney General in the task force’s mission. Government-politics
