ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA)—The St. Petersburg City Council approved utility rate hikes during a public hearing Thursday night.

The City Council considered adjustments to water, wastewater, reclaimed water, stormwater, and sanitation utility rates and charges for 2026.

The rate changes will begin on October 1, 2025.

According to the City of St. Petersburg, the utility fees support the efforts to ensure the reliability and resilience of St. Pete's water resources, sanitation, and stormwater utilities.

The fees fund operations, maintenance, and critical capital infrastructure improvements across the city.
