A cyclist who pulled out a knife during a confrontation with a motorist on a Sarnia street recently got three months in jail and a ban on using knives unless he’s making or eating food.
“You can’t go pulling knives on people, right? You just can’t do it. People have to be kept safe,” Justice Mark Poland told Joachim Lainey as he stood in a Sarnia courtroom’s prisoner’s box.

The dispute started when a cyclist pedalled down the middle of the Bright Street on May 26 at 9:40 a.m., impeding traffic, Sarnia police said at the time.
The motorist honked, prompting the cyclist to throw a piece of watermelon inside the vehicle, hitting a passenger in the head.
The driver got out and confronted the cyclist, who pulled a knife and threatening the driver, police said.
