President Donald Trump's nominee to fill a vacancy on the Federal Reserve board said at his confirmation hearing that he does not plan to leave his position as chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers if he is confirmed. Trump nominated Stephen Miran last month to finish out former Federal Reserve governor Adriana Kugler’s 14-year term, which ends in January. Kugler resigned early and will return to Georgetown University’s faculty this fall.
