On the face of it Plymouth’s Mutley Plain looks like a place that is on the way to somewhere else - but delve deeper and you find all sorts of gems on the high street and a community with a big heart that is doing its best to overcome challenges.
When I visited for the first time this week, I was invited along to the first repair cafe taking place in the Mutley Baptist Church, an idea being championed by city Labour councillor for the area Angela Penrose which is clearly going to become a popular monthly social event.
