MORGANTON, N.C. —

A double homicide investigation is underway after two people were found dead in a home after a fire.

The victims were identified as Michael Curtis Hallyburton, 63, and Joseph Kincaid Byrd, Jr., 76.

The case was first said to be a death investigation but has now become a double homicide investigation.
