MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) - A Wisconsin man arrested in 2024 during the seizure of a record-breaking amount of methamphetamine has now learned his fate after being sentenced on Tuesday.

According to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Wisconsin, now 48-year-old John Soung was arrested in July 2024 after investigators got information about a large quantity of methamphetamine being stored in a Eau Claire storage unit.

Authorities say a search warrant was carried out on the unit rented by Soung, with officials finding a backpack containing about six pounds of methamphetamine. He is said to have admitted to using the storage unit to store methamphetamine for distribution throughout the Eau Claire area.
