Next Wednesday, September 10, Embraer is expected to make a major announcement about the Brazilian planemaker’s next steps in the US aviation market. The third largest civil aircraft manufacturer in the world, Embraer has been struggling with negotiations over US tariffs since Donald Trump entered office as President.

The regional air carriers of America are highly reliant on Embraer for parts and planes with some, like Republic, operating fleets composed entirely of Embraer jets. At one point, the Brazilian aircraft were potentially facing as much as 50% import fees that would have raised the individual prices of its most popular commercial jets by nearly $10 million each.
