INDIANAPOLIS — A state police trooper was injured late Thursday night when a suspected intoxicated driver crashed into her vehicle during a call on Interstate 65 just south of downtown Indianapolis, the department reported.
Haley Howard was blocking a lane on I-65 protecting another trooper assisting a disabled motorist in the roadway when her vehicle was struck around 11 p.m. at highway speed by a suspected drunken driver, according to ISP.
"Trooper Howard was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries," police said. "The driver of the other vehicle is under investigation for operating while intoxicated."
