As the days shorten, the waters of Minnesota’s greatest lake draw folks to soak up their last outdoor moments before the cold sets in. In Duluth, agate hunters parsed the sands at Park Point Beach, a group of young men foot-raced along the Duluth Harbor North Breakwater Lighthouse pier and cyclists enjoyed the lake walk. Bare feet navigated the chilly rocks at Artist’s Point in Grand Marais while campers took in the expansive views at Temperance River State Park. The peaceful sough of waves on rocks sings a beautiful farewell to Northern summer.
