Edmonton police believe they’ve found the man shown in a viral video stealing a cellphone from an unsuspecting woman on Jasper Avenue.

Now all they need is the unsuspecting woman, and the person behind the camera.

On Thursday, city police issued an appeal for tips in the Aug. 21 cellphone snatching, which happened as an unidentified woman stood outside CWB Place, 10303 Jasper Ave. The suspect continued east on Jasper Avenue past a man with a cane who tried to intervene.

Police say the suspect was arrested two days later, but charges haven’t been laid pending identification of the videographer, whose clip ended up on the social media page YEGWAVE . They also need to locate the woman whose phone was stolen, and the man who tried to stop the suspect.
