A 50-year-old mother in Texas is accused of repeatedly stabbing her 9-year-old son to death in the neck and chest while he was lying in his bed. Wilma Jamitza Medina was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with one count of capital murder of a person under 10 years old in the slaying of David Ogbevbon Ehanire-Medina, authorities announced.

According to a preliminary news release from the Universal City Police Department, officers responded at about 5 a.m. on Sept. 3 to a home in the 8200 block of Zodiac Drive, which is near San Antonio.
