CASSVILLE, Mo. – A four-day jury trial has been scheduled for April 2026 for an Exeter man accused of killing his girlfriend and disposing of her body.
Aaron Eugene Malone, 24, is charged with second-degree murder, abandonment of a corpse and tampering with evidence in connection with the death of Aspen Lewis on Nov. 25, 2024, at her home in rural Barry County.
A probable cause statement filed in the case indicates Malone reported Lewis missing and told Barry County sheriff’s deputies he believed she had been abducted.
Investigators found blood stains on Malone’s truck and gravel disturbed in the driveway where jewelry pieces were found, the document states. Tests confirmed the blood was human.
