Michigan lottery players have a shot at what could be the second-largest Powerball jackpot Saturday night as a $1.8 billion prize is up for grabs, according to the Lottery's website.

There was no jackpot winner in the $1.4 billion Sept. 3 drawing, boosting the top prize to an estimated $1.8 billion as of Friday, Sept. 5. That amount would surpass the previous second-largest jackpot of $1.76 billion won in 2023.

Saturday's drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. Matching all five white balls and the power ball wins the jackpot, although players can win lesser amounts by matching fewer balls.

According to a news release, the since the last Powerball winner on May 31, Michigan lottery players have won more than $9 million in prizes, including three $1 million prizes.
