LAWRENCE — Feb. 25, 2012 is a date that likely stands out to a lot of Kansas basketball fans, and it stands out to former KU football star Devin Neal as well.

For one, Neal, who played for the Jayhawks before being drafted into the NFL earlier this year, remembers it as the day Kansas basketball mounted a comeback inside Allen Fieldhouse and beat Missouri. That was when KU’s Thomas Robinson blocked a shot late in the second half to help force overtime. Robinson and the Jayhawks went on to win the game in overtime, 87-86, in the last game of a rivalry in that sport that wouldn’t be played for years.

For another, Neal remembers it as the day his parents got married and the ceremony being postponed so people could first finish watching the game. Those with the groom were in one room,
