New York City’s beaches and outdoor pools will close for the season after Sunday.

But summer at these actual watering holes may go out with a bang — and a flash — as thunderstorms are expected to roll into the area this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, a cold front will move across the region Saturday, bringing some turbulent climes.

”We could be looking at strong gusty winds, heavy rainfall, lightning,” meteorologist Brian Ciemnecki said. “If you hear thunder, get indoors.”

The storms will most likely hit Saturday afternoon into the overnight hours, tapering off Sunday morning and leaving cooler air behind, according to the forecast. High temperatures Saturday are expected to hover around 80 degrees, but they’ll fall into the mid-70s Sunday.
