The good news for Fabian Lysell? He is a year older, more physically and mentally mature and he now has at least a small body of work in the National Hockey League from which he has to work as he prepares for the opening of training camp on Sept. 17.
The bad news? Making the Bruins roster, though not exactly chock-full of high-end talent, appears even harder to make for him than it was last year.
Part of that is because the B’s re-stocked their roster with some reliable veterans in Viktor Arvidsson, Tanner Jeannot, Sean Kuraly and Mikey Eysssimont. Another part of it is that it appears the 2021 first-round pick has been surpassed in the pipeline by younger players Matt Poitras and Fraser Minten, acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs in the Brandon Carlo trade, as well as Marat Khusnutdin
