It’s a chance to see the future firsthand.
On Sept. 14, the Calgary Flames will be playing host to the Edmonton Oilers in a game at the Scotiabank Saddledome that will show off both teams’ top prospects.
The Next Gen Showcase will be the second in a two-game series between the Alberta rivals’ young guns, with tickets going for $10 and all proceeds going to the Flames Foundation.
The Flames roster will feature a few of the prized prospects they’ve acquired over the past two drafts, including Zayne Parekh , Andrew Basha and Matvei Gridin, as well as 2023 first-rounder Sam Honzek.
In previous years, the Flames’ young prospects have played in the Penticton Young Stars Tournament in B.C., but it will not be taking place this fall.
