MIAMI, Okla. (KSNF) -- A man wanted on domestic violence charges was found hiding in a secret compartment.

Our sister station, KSNF in Joplin, reports that it happened on Labor Day in Miami, Oklahoma. Police went to a home in Miami searching for Jaylun Howey, 21, who was sought in two separate domestic violence cases.

The homeowners allowed police into the home to search for Howey, who was reported to be armed. The Miami Police Department says Howey was eventually found hiding behind a false wall underneath a kitchen cabinet.

Howey made his first appearance in court on Friday, where he was formally charged with domestic abuse – assault and battery. He is being held on a $2,500 bond.
