HAVERHILL, Mass. —
Findings of an autopsy confirm the manner of death for a man who died during a struggle with Haverhill police was homicide, but the investigation is still looking into whether the officers' actions were justified, according to Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker's office.
Police were trying to restrain Francis Gigliotti, 43, on July 11, after they said he was acting erratically and weaving through traffic, nearly getting hit by passing cars, before police arrived at the scene. Gigliotti became unresponsive during a struggle with the officers and later died at a nearby hospital. The incident was caught on video. Latest Forecast
