CLIFTON SPRINGS, N.Y. (WROC) — Ehren Strohm, Dixie Kendall, and Sam Vitale all work at Clifton Springs Medical Center, and they are on a mission.
"I'm very passionate about helping others," Vitale said.
"My mother was an LPN. She was active working when I was little, so that made me be want to be a nurse," Kendall said.
Each of them got into the medical field with a desire to help others. But, each of them also shares something else now, the trauma of being attacked by a patient while in the ER.
"I was attacked while working by a patient. I was ultimately thrown to the ground and had my head hit off the ground," Vitale said.
"I was kicked directly in my knee, causing it to hyper extend backwards, and the contact was so hard my coworkers could hear from down the hall," Strohm said.
