NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - The National Hurricane Center continues to monitor an area in the central tropical Atlantic where a tropical wave is bringing limited disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
According to the NHC, "although upper-level winds are general favorable for development, environmental dry air is likely to limit development over the next couple of days," but its still believed that a tropical depression is still possible to form early next week.
The system is forecasted to move westward at 10-mph across the central tropical Atlantic as it draws closer to the Lesser Antilles by the middle or later portion of next week.
Formation chances over the next 7-days has slightly downgraded to 70% while 40% holds tight over the coming 48-hours.
