Mayor Michelle Wu and other Boston city officials have 21 days to respond to the lawsuit filed by the federal government against the city’s anti-ICE participation statute, the Boston Trust Act.
“A lawsuit has been filed against you,” a summons sent Friday to the Boston Police Department, BPD Commissioner Michael Cox, Wu, and the city itself states. “Within 21 days after service of this summons on you … you must serve on the plaintiff an answer to the attached complaint or a motion under Rule 12 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.”
