After reaching the triple-digits Thursday for the seventh time this summer, we’ll cool off this weekend.

Friday will still be rather hot, with highs in the mid-90s and a mostly cloudy sky. By Friday evening, a cold front will move into North Texas, with a chance of thunderstorms, which may impact some Friday evening high school football games. The overall risk for severe weather is low, but a few storms may produce highs winds and small hail.

Saturday will be much cooler with highs around 80. There will be some showers and perhaps a thunderstorm in the morning, but the afternoon looks dry. Sunday will be pleasant with highs in the low 80s and a low chance for a shower or storm.

Temperatures will heat back up into the 90s by mid next week.
