Former City Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson was sentenced today to one month in prison, $13,000 in restitution and three years of probation.
She was also hit with a $200 special assessment.
The former councilor pleaded guilty in May to corruption charges tied to a kickback scheme federal authorities said she carried out in a City Hall bathroom.
She spoke in federal court in the Seaport saying she wanted to “ask God for forgiveness for every time I have fallen short.”
She added: “I didn’t want to speak today because I didn’t want to say the wrong thing. I don’t want you to think that I’m portraying myself as a victim. I’m not an arrogant person as the media portrays me. I’m certainly not above reproach. I take full accountability.”
