WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A 21-year-old D.C. man was sentenced to a decade in prison Friday for playing a role in a string of armed carjackings and robberies, the U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia announced.
In a news release, the USAO said that Dominic Armstrong -- also known as "D1" or "Domo" -- pleaded guilty in April to carjacking, brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence and interfering with interstate commerce by robbery.
After his 10-year prison term, Armstrong will have to serve an additional five years of supervised release.
Court documents state that on March 17, 2023, around 11:35 p.m., Armstrong and two others -- including co-defendant Javon Roach -- stole a car at gunpoint in the 3800 block of Minnesota Ave. NE.
