MINNEAPOLIS — A former teacher and coach has entered a guilty plea for sexually assaulting children and will be sentenced to life in prison, prosecutors say.
Aaron James Hjermstad was already in prison last September when a grand jury indicted him on 12 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving penetration. According to the Hennepin County attorney's Office, the victims were all under the age of 13 and many were children he coached or their relatives.
Under the terms of his plea agreement, he will be sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole in 30 years, prosecutors said in a news release.
